World Rainbow Hotels sees rise in bookings for Pride Golden Jubilee Year

World Rainbow Hotels (WRH) has reported a steep rise of 31% bookings during PRIDE 2019.

The GDS accredited LGBTQ consortia represents a collection of more than 1,200 international LGBTQ friendly hotels and resorts.

A similar increase was witnessed in listings requests from potential hotels during PRIDE 2019, celebrating 50 years of the festival around the world.

Following the legalisation of same-sex marriage in a number of countries, there has been a marked increase in demand for LGBT honeymoons. It is coupled with the findings from the Global LGBT2030 research programme, which estimated LGBT travel spend in 2018 amounted to $218bn.

Mark Lewis, CEO of HotelREZ Group and owner of World Rainbow Hotels, said: ?Over the last eight years we have gradually built the World Rainbow Hotels inventory and accreditation marque. It?s the only one of its kind and demonstrates our commitment to this important area of the hospitality industry. PRIDE gives all businesses the opportunity to focus on diversity and inclusivity which is a great thing. However, this growing segment also represents a lucrative incremental revenue stream for hoteliers. When they can get their service and offer right for this discerning market, it delivers great dividends.

?We are proud to have been a front runner in this area and we?re really excited to see our WRH accreditation and booking portal grow significantly in the coming years, in line with the continued development of a more open and inclusive world, and the need for properties where our LGBTQ guests can stay comfortably and safely.?
