Finnair opens Platinum Wing lounge at Helsinki for premium flyers

Finnair has opened Platinum Wing lounge at Helsinki airport exclusively for premium customers.

The Nordic-themed lounge has been designed to feature different zones for working and relaxing, offering upgraded dining options, fine wines and an exclusive sauna.

The spacious Platinum Wing lounge is located in HelsinkiAirport's non-Schengen zone, making it convenient for customers heading to London or Finnair?s Far East and Asian destinations across China, Japan and to Singapore.

The new lounge is for exclusive use by Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo and Platinum members, as well as oneworld Emerald cardholders.

Karim Al-Soufi, vice president ground experience for the airline, said: ?The renewal of our Finnair lounges is due to the strong growth of Finnair in recent years and due to our continuous efforts to invest into our customer experience.

?We have listened to the feedback of our customers when defining the lounge concept, whilst also building upon the rich heritage of Finnair and the Nordics.?

David Kondo, head of customer experience product design for the airline, said: ?We wanted to create a sanctuary of calm from the business of the airport and used the best Nordic design to make this possible, with inspiration from residential and hotel design.?

After checking in through automates gates, or with the help of a dedicated lounge host, guests can enjoy a quiet reception area far from the bustle of the main terminal. The reception features booth seats with AC and USB power. Customers can also relax in the lounge?s sauna ahead of their flight.

Adjacent to the Platinum Wing, the new Finnair Business Lounge will also be enhanced to offer a more spacious and comfortable experience for customers from Autumn 2019.
