Russia Highlights – New Year

This 11-day tour gives visitors the chance to see Moscow’s Red Square and St Basil’s Cathedral under a layer of snow. You’ll vodka-toast the year out with a Russian Family at a homestay in the small history town of Suzdal and welcome in the new year with a glass of champagne.

The tour includes a night in a hotel themed around Santa’s helper Snegurochka in Kostroma, a visit to the home of Ded Moroz (the Russian Santa) in the small town of Veliky Ustyug and a Russian style tea-party in St Petersburg.

From £1,498 (was £1,665) per person including seven nights’ accommodation in a hotel, one night in a homestay and two nights on a sleeper train. Trip departs on December 29. The price also includes transport, a local guide and selected meals. Trips depart in groups of up to 16 people.

Japan Winter Festivals

Experience Japan’s winter festivals from Sapporo to Otaru and Asahikawa on this nine-day small group adventure. First stop is the annual Snow Festival in Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, a display of lights, ice sculptures as well as eating, drinking and dancing. From there, the group heads to Asahikawa which hosts a smaller and more local snow and ice festival in the city’s main park. There’s also time to try your hand at ice-hole fishing, hit the slopes or go trekking in Furano.
