Palma registers 9% increase in low season visitors from the UK

The Balearic capital of Palma welcomed 134,725 visitors from the UK between October 2018 and April 2019, recording a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2018 when 123,590 British travellers visited the Mediterranean city.

According to the Palma tourism board, from January to April 2019, the city welcomed a total of 226,974 national and international visitors representing a 17.8% increase compared to the same period in 2018.

The rise in visitor numbers during the winter months reflects a growing appetite for cultural city breaks rather than beach holidays, which also contributes to the tourism board?s objective of growing out-of-season travellers.

Under the slogan ?Passion for Palma?, the tourist campaign focuses on four key themes including gastronomy, sport, shopping and culture, with the aim of strengthening Palma?s position as year-round city break destination.
