Mauritius to reopen for international travel from July 15

The island nation will open in phases throughout 2021, with the first phase welcoming vaccinated travellers.

The island nation of Mauritius is ready to welcome international travellers, setting the date of July 15, 2021 for the start of phase one in the re-opening plans.

Vaccinated travellers will be allowed to visit Mauritius and freely enjoy on-site facilities at their chosen resorts. If guests stay over 14 days and receive a negative PCR test result, they are then permitted to explore the island's attractions. A list of pre-approved resorts will be available from June 20, 2021.

All travellers aged 18 years or over must be fully vaccinated, with a negative PCR test result five to seven days before departure. Guests are required to take a PCR test upon arriving at the airport and on day seven and 14 of their resort holiday if applicable.

Phase two will be set in motion from October 1, 2021, vaccinated travellers will be allowed entry without restrictions upon presentation of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure.

Unvaccinated travellers will require 14 days of in-room quarantine in both phases.
