Abercrombie & Kent launches new escorted tours programme

Abercrombie & Kent has launched its 2019/2020 Escorted Tours programme, including the innovative Immersive Journeys.

Limited to a maximum of 18 guests, escorted tours are led by the tour operator's resident tour directors, and feature only five-star accommodations.

Two types of touring are on the offer  – 'Luxury Small Group Journey' and 'Immersive Journeys'.

The main features of escorted tours include: tour directors and guides who have insights into local culture from their permanent immersion there; guaranteed departures once there are two people booked; no tour will have more than 18 guests and the average is about 14; and welcome and farewell dinners are provided to meet with other guests

Immersive Journeys provide the support of an escorted group, but with a bit more freedom. These trips are in-depth and informative, giving guests the chance to understand the culture, history, and get under the skin of a destination. There is no single supplement for the first four solo places booked. The Design Your Day concept allows guests to choose the experience best suited to them on select days, across a variety of interests. These are grouped into three themes and include 'arts and culture', 'culinary delights' and 'active'. To celebrate the launch of the programme, A&K is offering a reduced deposit of £250 if confirmed by December 31.

Luxury Small Group Journeys travel at a faster pace than Immersive Journeys.

Kerry Golds, managing director of the tour operator, said: “We've been pioneering luxury travel since our inception over 55 years ago. We're continually on a quest to provide the best experiences to guests new and old. We believe there is a gap in escorted touring which goes beyond the five-star – which is why we've launched our Immersive Journeys programme. We've created it with the UK traveller in mind; no single supplement, guaranteed departures and our unique Design your DaySM concept bring escorted touring to the modern, discerning traveller."
