CLIA launches new river cruise itineraries and membership initiatives

River GuidesCruise Lines International Associations members can now make the most of several new training opportunities and incentives.

Travel agents can now enjoy two new initiatives from the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), including new online training, exclusive resources and dedicated events.

A key focus of the new offerings is the new Certificate programme, with two sections on European river cruising and Worldwide river cruising. The programme offers tailor-made advice and guidance on a number of key destinations across five hours worth of in-depth training exercises.

The programme also includes a new river cruise e-newsletter sent to members monthly, along with additional resources including river sales guides on the member portal of the CLIA website.

Also available is the CLIA 'EMBARC ID' card which proves membership as an official agent member of CLIA UK & Ireland. All active members are eligible for the card, which offers exclusive discounted rates for CLIA events. Further details on the card's other benefits will be available in the coming weeks.

Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland director, explained: ?With the cruise industry rapidly gaining momentum, we?re keen to see more resources on offer for our agent members, to help them keep up with interest and demand. Our two new initiatives are perfect for travel professionals interested in river cruise or who are eager to showcase their credentials, as well as carry on learning about our ever-evolving industry.?
