The Samoa Tourism Authority, exhibiting at this year's World Travel Market with the South Pacific Tourism Organisation, is promoting the launch of the Samoa Smart Guide app by destination management company Polynesian Xplorer.

The app plays the role of a local insider’s guide to Samoa, including offering tips on where to stay, dine, entertainment, local handicrafts and artists. It also allows users to connect to local businesses and services on the island. with no 3G or data roaming required.

The tourist board has also announced the re-opening of the Return to Paradise Resort, as well as the opening of the first international brand hotel, Starwood’s Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Resort (on December 22) and the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel (on May 1, 2015).

Samoa Tourism Authority representatives will also use WTM as an opportunity to highlight significant anniversaries, celebrations and upcoming events for the country. As an example, the national rugby team, Manu Samoa, will make its way to the UK to play England at Twickenham on November 22, and agents and operators visiting the stand have the chance to win two tickets.
