UK parents happy to fly further for their family holidays

Almost half of UK parents are happy to travel outside of Europe for a getaway with their kids according to a survey by online travel company Globehunters.

In the survey of 1,000 UK parents, 46% were happy to fly mid to long haul despite the longer flight times, compared with 37% that were only willing to fly for four hours or less with their kids in tow.

The majority of UK parents are happy to fly for a family holiday with 83% saying they would travel by plane to take their children on holiday.

?Flying with children can sometimes be a challenge, but UK parents are willing to look past this in order to holiday somewhere further afield as a family?; said Globehunters head of marketing, Leon Warner.

?It?s now easier than ever to keep children entertained on long haul flights with an abundance of handheld entertainment options available. This will become even easier when the FAA?s decision to allow the use of electronic devices during take-off and landing take effect in late 2014.?

The survey also found that women were more willing to fly with children than men. Only 14% of women said they wouldn?t fly with their children for a holiday, while 24% of men were unwilling to fly with their kids.

With the survey showing that when it comes to family holidays, a significant number of parents are not put off by longer flight times, Globehunters are providing a selection of special offers for those willing to take to the skies for that dream family trip.
