Job satisfaction survey of travel staff reveals half will consider leaving their company in the next 12 months.

A survey carried out this month by gift voucher company highstreetvouchers.com has been investigating how satisfied travel workers are at their company and within the travel industry in general.

The results revealed 98% of travel workers see themselves staying in the industry for at least 5 years, but 47% will consider leaving their company within the next 12 months, either to join a competitor or to setup their own venture.

Respondents were from a wide-variety of job roles including agents, consultants, operators and managers.

Neil Johnstone, marketing manager at highstreetvouchers.com said: “These results highlight the importance of promoting staff loyalty within this industry. When pay scales in many companies have been frozen, staff often view leaving as the easiest route to an improved salary package.

“Rewarding and incentivising employees gives businesses another avenue to thank staff for their hard work and loyalty, helping to develop a relationship between the two parties.”
