Great Rail Journeys is promoting a special interest tour called Yorkshire In the 1940’s.


The tour captures the romance and nostalgia of Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway during its ‘1940’s weekend’ on October 11 and 12 when the town is transformed to the way it was then, complete with a military parade and historical scenarios and re-enactments.

Prices for the tour lead in at £358 per person including four nights' half-board accommodation, a guided walking tour of York, scenic rail journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway during the 1940’s weekend, a journey on the Keighley and Worth Railway, a visit to the Bronte Parsonage Museum and a tour manager throughout.
