WOW air will add transatlantic flights to its schedule with the launch of new routes to Boston in spring next year.
The airline will fly to Boston from Gatwick via Reykjavik six times weekly on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Flights depart Gatwick at 12:20 to arrive in Boston at 18:25, while return flights depart at 20:10, arriving in Gatwick the next day at 10:50. Direct flights to Boston from Reykjavik will depart at 16:30.
The new route will mark the airline’s first venture to the US and five new Airbus A320 aircraft will be introduced next year to accommodate the additional flights.
Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of the airline, said: “Our new flights to Boston mark a significant milestone for us. The continued growth of the company since its inception in 2011 has been really exciting to watch and we’re really looking forward to connecting the land of fire and ice with the land of opportunity.”
