A £9.5million car park development has commenced at Bristol Airport.

Construction of a multi-storey car park – the first on the Airport site – is now underway and will create more than 1,000 spaces situated within a short walking distance of the terminal.

The development also includes improved internal road design, landscaping and signage all geared to assist passengers when parking cars on site.

Construction of the multi-storey car park follows recent improvements elsewhere across the site this year, including a £2.5million customer reception centre in the Silver Zone car park and a £2.3million upgrade to the immigration hall in the terminal.

Andrew Goodenough, the airport's development director, said: “These developments demonstrate our continued commitment to enhance passenger facilities at Bristol Airport. The multi-storey car park will meet the demand for high quality, secure car parking close to the terminal.”

The route network available from Bristol Airport is also growing, with direct flights to more than 120 destinations and frequent daily services to major hubs including Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin and Frankfurt.
