Following the recently announced travel restrictions to Tibet, Wendy Wu Tours has ceased the sale of new bookings to Tibet for the remainder of 2012.

Stuart Whittington, head of product & commercial said: “Wendy Wu Tours has several Tibet itineraries, which have now been taken off sale for the remainder of 2012. We are currently contacting all passengers that are booked on these specific tours to either rebook them on another tour, or postpone the trip until 2013 when we expect the travel restrictions to be lifted. We are in close contact with our team on the ground and are carefully monitoring the situation.  If the situation does change, we hope to be able to resume a number of departures later in 2012. ”

Whittington continued; “We have found that some passengers are keen to join an alternative tour that encompasses either the Sichuan Province or the Yunnan Province, where authentic Tibetan culture and tradition can be experienced. We have a range of itineraries encompassing these two provinces and we would be happy to discover these options with anyone whose travel plans for 2012 have been disrupted.”
