Wendy Wu Tours has launched its new winter campaign featuring new destinations, exclusive Chinese New Year holidays, family holidays and Christmas tours, with a lead in price of £1,490.
As examples, an eight-day Chinese New Year Special takes in the cities of Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai.
After five days covering the sites in Beijing and Xi’an including the Great Wall, Forbidden Square and Terracotta Warriors the tour arrives in Shanghai ready to celebrate, where an exclusive dragon boat will be the base for an evening of fireworks, music and Chinese banquet.
The boat will cruise the Huangpu River before a day sightseeing in Shanghai the following day before returning to the UK. Prices lead in at £1,890 per person, with departures on January 25 and 28.
A ten-day In Pursuit of Pandas tour combines the cities of Beijing and Xi’an with a visit to Chengdu, gateway city to the Panda Conservation Centre.
Christmas Day will see the tour walking the Great Wall followed by visits to the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven.
Days five and six are spent in Xi’an visiting the Terracotta Warriors before heading to Chengdu and visiting the Grand Buddha of Leshan and spending New Year’s Eve with the pandas.
Prices lead in at £2,190 based on a December 23 departure.
Meanwhile, an eight-day Harbin Snow and Ice festival option combines two visual spectacles – the Snow and Ice Festival in Harbin and Chinese New Year in Shanghai.
The Snow and Ice Festival is an annual event which draws large international crowds despite temperatures sometimes reaching as low as -26 centigrade. After two days in Harbin the tour flies onto Shanghai where the group will join the New Year’s celebration before a day of sightseeing in the city. Prices start from £1,999 and departures are on January 25 and 28.
