Viking Sea was welcomed into London today. The largest ocean ship to be christened on the Thames the small cruise ship arrived for its naming ceremony in Greenwich.

The vessel passed through the Thames Barrier, mooring at Greenwich where 48 sailors manned the yard-arm of the Cutty Sark in a traditional naval custom to welcome her.

This evening, the ship will be christened followed by a celebratory firework display.

The ship can host 930 guests on itineraries that start from Scandinavia and the Baltic through to the Western and Eastern Mediterranean as well as the Caribbean and beyond.

It is the second ocean cruise ship launched by Viking Cruises and follows the arrival into Greenwich last March of its sister ship, Viking Star.
