UNICO 20°87°'s volunteer programme links guests with the local community

UNICO 20°87° has introduced a new 'Vacation with a Cause' programme which allows guests at the hotel to make an impact on the everyday lives of those in the surrounding communities.

The programme by Riviera Maya's all-inclusive hotel invites guests to donate everything from men and women’s clothing to blankets, school supplies, toys and games to a team at the hotel for distribution to local non-profits and institutions by the RCD Foundation.

For example, all school supplies, markers, pencils and play-doh will be sent to schools in Quintana Roo, including Playa Del Carmen, Solidaridad, Puerto Morelos and Akumal. Colouring books and Spanish reading books will also be sent to schools within Nuevo Noh-Bec, which is a small community located on the outskirts of Playa del Carmen and home to about three thousand people. The community lacks necessities such as running water, electricity and school supplies.

The programme is open to all guests and employees at UNICO 20°87°. The cocktails, cuisines, ingredients of spa treatments and the art in the rooms are inspired by the Yucatan culture.

The hotel also encourages guests to experience a selection of curated local adventures ranging from a guided tour of one of the Seven Wonders of the World Chichen Itza to dining in a Cenote as well as on-property activities from Tequila Tasting and Cooking With Local Flavours to Art & Wine and Salsa lessons.

Travelpack is offering seven nights all-inclusive at the five-star Unico 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya from just £1,999 per person on an all-inclusive basis. This price is based on two people sharing an Alcoba Tropical View Room and includes return economy flights from London Heathrow with Virgin Atlantic and premium transfers. Price based on travel between November 1 – December 13, 2019.
