Prices start from ?220 per person, return, with two weekly departures.

This development follows a successful 2009 for the country?s tourism industry, with official projections showing an increase of 8.1% in UK visitors travelling to Tunisia from the UK, compared to 2008.

?Following the continued success of the London to Tunis route, the introduction of the new Djerba service is indicative of the growing interest in Tunisia from the British holidaymaker? said Anissa Ramoundi, UK & Ireland Director, The Tunisian National Tourist Office.

?At only two and a half hours from the UK, providing excellent value for money outside of the Euro-zone and featuring a heady mix of culture, history and adventure, the Jewel of the Mediterranean is closer than you think.?

In recent years Djerba and Tunisia?s golden south has become the destination of choice for British holidaymakers eager to uncover the region?s mix of culture, adventure and intense natural beauty. Home to some of the country?s finest beaches, adventure tours and beautiful golf courses, this unique landscape has also played host to such iconic films as Star Wars and The English Patient.
