Massachusetts FAM Trip Delta Virgin Atlantic

Travel agents experience Massachusetts on a fam trip

A group of travel agents and reservations staff at tour operators from across the UK came together to explore Massachusetts, USA from September 19 ? 23.

The fam trip was organised by Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic in partnership with the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism.

This was a trip to showcase the departure points from UK; London Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh with direct connections to Boston and experiences in Greater Boston, Plymouth and Provincetown ahead of the Plymouth 400 commemoration events next year.

During this trip, agents enjoyed whale watching with Boston Harbour cruises, Boston highlights on a bike and an off-road experience to the National Historic District of the Cape Cod National Seashore Park. They also travelled to Plymouth from Provincetown on Captain John Boats fast ferry for the ?20-mile across Cape Cod Bay? and a ghost tour.

Dominique Kotsias, UK account manager for Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, said: ?The agents had a great time experiencing Massachusetts and we were delighted to educate some our key travel trade partners on the areas of Massachusetts which will see key events in the Plymouth 400 commemoration next year. All three destinations were visited in one short trip showing how easy it is either by ferry or by car. Next year?s commemoration will put the spotlight on Massachusetts and its connections with UK and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors from the UK to join in on some of the events.

?We are very grateful to Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic for their support and partnership.?
