Thomas Cook cancels all bookings to Sharm el Sheikh

Thomas cook has announced that following no change to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office?s advice with regards to travel to Sharm el Sheikh airport, it has taken the decision to cancel all bookings to Sharm el Sheikh  up to and including October 31 (previously May 25).

The operator is reassuring its customers that it is doing its upmost to ensure they are still able to enjoy a holiday by offering the following options:
 
?         Customers who are due to travel to Sharm el Sheikh up to and including October 31 are able to cancel or amend their holiday to another destination free of charge.
?         Customers who wish to re-book an alternative Summer 2016 holiday are being offered free amendments to an alternative Thomas Cook holiday of their choice, paying only any difference in price.
?         Customers booking a new holiday departing before October 31 will be offered a ?30 per person discount, regardless of whether the alternative is cheaper or more expensive. 
 
The company is currently contacting customers whose bookings are affected, prioritising those due to travel soonest.
 
Customers wishing to amend their holiday are encouraged to visit their local Thomas Cook or Co-operative Travel shop, where agents will be happy to assist.

The operator has also increased staff numbers in its contact centre to help deal with call volumes. Any customers with immediate concerns and who unable to visit one of our shops should call our dedicated customer phone line, open 24 hours a day on 01733-224536.
 
A dedicated line for travel agent enquiries has also been set up, open from 08:30 to 19:00 (10:00-17:00 Sunday) on 01733-224520.
