Thomson and First Choice reveal where holidaymakers are travelling over the Jubilee
Demand for 7,10 and 11 night breaks has been strong as people look to make the most of their days off.
Destinations such as Egypt and Turkey are proving very popular over the weekend, thanks to their guaranteed high temperatures and wide choice of big all-inclusive resorts. As always the Balearic Islands of Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca are also selling well, with many holidaymakers looking to go back to resorts that they know and love. Thanks to the extended bank holiday weekend many customers are also looking to travel further and Florida and Mexico are Thomson and First Choice’s most popular long haul destinations for the Jubilee weekend.
“This year’s half term is proving especially popular thanks to the extra days off for the Queen’s Jubilee,” says Steve Perridge, general manager of Late Trading for Thomson and First Choice. “All-inclusive holidays are selling well, as consumers want to budget for their holidays more easily. However thanks to the strength of the pound against the Euro, holidaymakers to Eurozone countries, will find eating out and going shopping cheaper than last year.”
