Tauck is offering 273 small group departures on 54 itineraries this year.
The small group departures are on tours in Europe, North America, Central America, South America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The average number of travellers on the operator’s small group departures is 24, versus approximately 40 on regular departures of the same itineraries.
Commenting on small group departures as a more affordable option than people may realize, Dan Mahar, CEO, Tauck said: “Of the 54 different trips where we’re offering a smaller group option, 42 have a surcharge of 15% or less. In fact, the additional cost on over a dozen trips is £325 or less. On our ‘A Portrait of India’ tour, the added cost is just £25 per day.”
Besides the special small group departures on its regular land journeys, Tauck offers its portfolio of small group “Culturious trips” (designed for active, baby boomer-age travellers), which average 21 guests. In addition, most of Tauck’s safaris are limited to 20 to 30 guests, and the company’s “World Cities” explorations of Florence, London, Paris and Rome each average 24 guests as well.
