Taking a year off work and travelling is top of most Brits’ bucket lists, including visiting America and Australia, going to see the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids, according to new research from IntoTheBlue.co.uk, with almost a third of respondents looking to take a gap year from education or work to do so.
The poll questioned more than 1,000 Brits about what was on their bucket list, and travel came top along with taking part in experiences/activities. A number of people would also like to try different jobs, something they have never done before or take up a new hobby.
Having families or successful relationships and quite simply being ‘in love’ were other bucket list things that many aimed for.
More findings revealed that the most popular travel destinations were American and Australia, while places to visit were the Grand Canyon, the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids.
Travelling abroad wasn’t enough for some; some of those surveyed would actually like to live abroad as well with America and Australia being the most popular destinations for emigration.
Trying new things and enjoying new experiences was at the top of their bucket lists for 14% including skydiving, swimming with dolphins and taking a hot-air balloon ride.
