Taber Holidays has added two new rail tours in Sweden this summer.
‘The Polar Express to Lapland’ itinerary from Stockholm travels north to Kiruna, high above the Arctic Circle. The eight-night adventure includes an overnight stay at Luleå and the Treehotel in the forest at nearby Harads.
Finishing in Kiruna, the heart of Swedish Lapland and home to the indigenous Sami people, guests have the choice of taking part in optional activities including white-water rafting and wildlife watching.
Prices start from £1,630 per person and include flights, accommodation and the rail journeys. The tour is based on two sharing and departs daily until September 30.
A ‘Gothenburg and Stockholm’ itinerary combines short stays in each city. The six-night trip links east and west, with three nights spent in both Gothenburg and Stockholm.
Prices start from £1,048 based on two sharing, and include flights from Heathrow to Gothenburg, returning from Stockholm; the rail journey between the two cities; and accommodation with breakfast. The tour departs daily until September 30.
The operator is also offering guests the option to combine the 'Gothenburg and Stockholm' itinerary with either two nights in Karlstad overlooking Lake Vanern, Sweden’s largest lake, or two nights in this year’s host Eurovision city of Malmö. Prices for Gothenburg, Karlstad and Stockholm start from £988 per person and for Gothenburg, Malmö and Stockholm, from £1,021.
Both itineraries include flights from Heathrow, six nights' breakfast accommodation and the rail journey. A number of optional excursions are also available in each destination.
