Sunvil Discovery expands winter Scandinavia programme

Sunvil Discovery has expanded its winter 2012/13 programme to Scandinavia this year.
New additions include the Abisko Mountain Station in the Abisko National Park in Swedish Lapland. The micro-climate surrounding Abisko provides ideal conditions for a sighting of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), due to its virtually clear skies, low precipitation and distance from artificial light pollution. The Mountain Station is ideal for active clients as there is the opportunity to take part in ice climbing, snow shoe tours, cross-country skiing, dog sled tours and ice fishing.
A three-night Northern Lights package leads in at ?1,122 per person, based on two sharing. It includes flights to Kiruna (via Stockholm) with SAS Scandinavian Airlines, transfers, three nights? full board at the Abisko Mountain Station and excursions.
Also new for winter is the addition of Bj?rkliden Mountain Resort in Bj?rkliden, located 2km west of Abisko National Park.
The destination is well known for downhill and cross-country skiing, winter activities (snowmobiling, dog sledding, snow shoe hikes and ice fishing), family holidays and gastronomic breaks. It is also an ideal destination for sightings of the Northern Lights, and agents can consider offering their clients a multi-centre itinerary that combines a stay at Bj?rkliden Mountain Resort with a stay in Abikso, Kiruna and Lulea, or at the Ice Hotel.?
A three-night half-board stay at Bj?rkliden Mountain Resort costs from ?1,073 per person, based on two sharing, and includes flights to Kiruna (via Stockholm) with SAS Scandinavian Airlines, transfers and excursions.
Another new addition is the Pine Tree Lodge, located 150km north of the Arctic Circle, in the rural hamlet of Kangos.
Away from light pollution, this owner-managed property is well-positioned to offer sightings of the Aurora Borealis and ? with husky-dog kennels and an activity company based on site, the opportunity to participate in a range of winter activities.
A three-night ?Explore the North? winter activity weekend costs from ?1,033 per person, based on two sharing. The price includes flights to Kiruna (via Stockholm) with SAS Scandinavian Airlines, transfers, full board accommodation, a husky dog sled excursion and a snowmobile excursion.
