New for 2013 is the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village near Fort Myers in southwest Florida, Starwood’s first full service property in the region.

The new resort, previously known as The Resort at Marina Village, overlooks the Gulf of Mexico, Caloosahatchee River and San Carlos Bay, and is conveniently located for exploring the nearby barrier islands of Sanibel and Captiva, the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Fort Myers Beach and the regions’ multiple golf courses.

The property offers 263 rooms and suites and 25,000sq.ft of meeting and function space. Facilities include a lagoon-style outdoor pool, clay tennis courts, a spa and a marina offering water sports, boat trips and fishing. The resort also features signature Westin facilities including a WestinWORKOUT fitness studio, a Westin Heavenly Bed, Heavenly Bath and Heavenly Shower and the SuperFoodsRX menu. Following further renovations, the hotel will also offer a Westin Kids Club and convert its 4,000ft spa to a Heavenly Spa by Westin.

Prices start from £205 per night for a double room with water views and a private balcony or patio with tables and chairs.

For travel agents, the company runs a StarwoodPro programme where agents can participate in a training module. Once the module is completed, agents can access favourable rates and earn points to redeem against stays at any hotel in the company's portfolio with every booking.
