Shearings is launching a new initiative across all its winter holidays to protect customers from severe weather disruption and potential cancellations.

The operator's new Snow Assurance is built in to all winter breaks at no added cost and fully protects customers by offering them the option of rebooking or a full refund if the company is unable to operate a holiday or reach a particular pick up point. Payments of £10 per person will also be made if an excursion is cancelled due to severe winter weather during a holiday.

The company will also help customers who are unable to reach their departure point by allowing them to transfer to another holiday in the following six weeks – even if their original holiday is still operating.

Meanwhile, clients who opt for the operator's travel insurance package will benefit from its inbuilt Homeplan cover, which protects against problems caused by the cold weather, such as broken boilers or damage to locks or windows whilst customers are on holiday. The cover also includes breakdown cover from Green Flag for customers making their own way to their hotel. Prices start from £25 per person per holiday.
