SATOA celebrates 30 years with a new travel awards ceremony

1982 heralded the beginning of SATOA, an organisation dedicated to promoting travel to Southern Africa and now too, the Indian Ocean. Membership of the organisation spans airlines, tour operators, retail travel agents and accomodation providers both in the United Kingdom, Africa and the Indian Ocean.
In celebration of its 30th birthday, SATOA will host its first ever Awards Ceremony on September 12 at the Zimbabwe Embassy at 19:00 hours.

The event is aimed at recognising stellar contributions by airlines, tour operators, accomodation providers and individuals to the task of promoting Africa and the Indian Ocean in what is a competitive market.


Award categories are Outstanding Retail Agent, Outstanding Tour Operator, Outstanding Airline, Outstanding Tourist Board, Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Tourism or Charity, Outstanding Journalist and Outstanding Accommodation provider, all respective to the region Africa and the Indian Ocean.


Voting has commenced on SATOA?s newly launched website www.satoa.com and a shortlist will soon be announced for named categories.
