With two Brazil itineraries during Carnival 2012, Crystal Cruises has announced four new opportunities for guests to experience the Carnival during the cruises’ overnights in Rio de Janeiro.
From grandstand seating and front-row box seats to luxury VIP sky box suites with gourmet goodies, guests have a choice of several fully escorted, reserved seating programmes at the Sambadrome. There is also the option to participate in the parade, dressed in costume and performing with one of the samba schools.
Crystal Symphony’s Miami to Rio and Rio to Buenos Aires voyages on February 6 and 20 respectively end or begin on the Sunday and Monday, when 30,000 costumed members of the top samba schools thrill crowds with singing, dancing, drumming and colourful floats.
All excursion participants will be accompanied by experienced guides, with several late-night shore-to-ship shuttles. The Carnival excursions start from $799 per person rising to $12,999 per person for the VIP box suite package.
The 14-night February 6 'Copacabana & Carnival' voyage starts in Miami and visits Barbados, Devil’s Island, Maceió and Salvador before finishing in Rio. Travellers who book this cruise by October 31 receive up to £1,260 per person off the cruise fare with prices starting from £3,655 per person fly/cruise.
The 12-night February 20 'Samba Serenade' cruise starts in Rio and visits Buzios, Ilha Grande, Paraty, Santos/São Paulo, Itajai and Montevideo before finishing in Buenos Aires. Prices start from £4,380 per person fly/cruise.
Both voyages include $500 per person credit, flights and transfers.
