Saga presents 17-night ?Grand Tour of China? option

Saga?s new escorted tour and river cruise offers guests an immersive discovery of ancient and modern China, including visits to ?must see? sights for first time visitors.

After two nights in Shanghai, guests venture on a four-night sailing along the Yangtze River on the 266-passenger river cruise ship Victoria Anna, taking in the river-gorge landscape and Three Gorges Dam.

The cruise ends in Chongqing, with two nights to take in the 7th century Dazu rock carvings and the Hongya Cave traditional-style stilted buildings, before boarding a bullet train to Chengdu for a two-night stay.

After a visit to the Panda Breeding Centre and the ancient city ruins of Sanxingdui, guests can cruise along the Li River to Yangshuo, with a chance to explore Guilin Fubo Hill Park and Fubo Hill, before taking a flight to Xi'an for a two-night stay and a visit to see the Terracotta Army.

Guests then fly to Beijing for a three-night stay to visit Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City, before ending with a visit to The Great Wall.

Prices lead in at ?2,899 departing Heathrow from April to November 2016 and include a door-to-door chauffeur service, flights, airport taxes, accommodation, most meals, porterage, a tour manager, tourist visa, travel insurance or a discount of ?49 discount if the passenger has their own insurance cover.
