Your Car Hire is offering agents reduced rates for the peak summer season following the pound’s resurgence against the euro.

Sterling has hit its highest value since November 2008, enabling the company to buy more cheaply and to reduce prices accordingly from the beginning of this month.

The company's managing director, Ruth Bligh, said that while prices will fluctuate according to location and demand, rates available on July 6 this year showed savings of up to £14 a week for a Group A car compared with prices offered in June.

She said: "The surge in value of the pound is good news for everyone considering travelling to Euro-zone destinations this summer, and we are ensuring that agents benefit too by providing them with the most attractive car rental rates we can."
