Planet Holidays has expanded its 2011 Greece programme by adding new and specialist places of interest with authentic and stylish accommodation.

In Athens the operator has introduced the Grand Bretagne and, further north on the mainland in Halkidiki, will be introducing Porto Carras, which was originally a monastery. The resort was developed around the marina which can now accommodate 315 boats, while a motorway links Thessaloniki with Porto Carras and the nearby village of Neos Marmaras.

Also accessed from the mainland and the airport of Thessaloniki or Kavalla is the small northernmost Aegean island of Thassos, where the operator has added the five-star Ilio Mare Resort on Dassilio Skala Prinou near Prinos.

The new property offers luxury rooms and suites with sea views.
Meanwhile, the company has reintroduced the island of Kos for next year and is featuring the family-friendly Aquis Marine Resort & Waterpark, located near the beach of Tigaki. Family rooms are available including 198 one-bedroom rooms and 100 two-bedroom rooms, each with a private balcony.
