On The Go Tours has launched a number of departures where solo travellers can have their own room without paying any extra supplements.

Available on a number of tours to three of its top selling destinations - Egypt, India and Sri Lanka, solo travellers can enjoy touring with a room to themselves at no extra cost.

The selected departures are open to everyone, not exclusively single participants, ensuring an interesting mix of travellers on the group tours.

Carl Cross, the operator's managing director, said: “Throughout 2016 we saw an impressive growth in enquiry from single travellers looking to experience a country with fellow like-minded travellers and we are certain this trend will continue throughout 2017.

“We already run 'no compulsory single supplements' on most of our Signature destinations and with the launch of this exciting development we are confident we will be applying this to many more of our destinations.”

As an example of itineraries, an eight-day Taj Express tour costs from £799 including seven nights in three- and four-star hotels and heritage properties with the option to have a private room at no extra cost on selected departures. The price also includes daily breakfast, one lunch and two dinners; a city rickshaw ride and travel by jeep to the Amber Fort; touring of Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and the rural Shekhawati region with a local guide; all relevant transport; and transfers.
