The River Cruise Line has launched two eight-day cruises for summer 2016 to some of Europe’s most beautiful wine regions.
The ‘Cruise the Rhône and Saône from Provence to Burgundy’ itinerary is priced from £1,349 per person and departs on June 9 on MS Amadeus. It takes in Viviers, Vienne, Mâcon and Chalon sur Saône, as well as the gastronomic centre – Lyon.
Optional excursions include the Beaujolais wine route, Beaune and the Burgundy wine route, plus the Ardèche Gorge. A ‘River Douro Cruise 2016’ departs from Porto on June 29 on MS Douro Queen, and leads in at £1,149.
The itinerary passes through the Douro valley, all the way to Spain, with opportunities to visit several port wineries, historic villages, take in a flamenco show in Salamanca and discover the history of Porto.
Prices are based on two adults sharing an en-suite cabin on a full board basis, with return travel - by rail to Avignon or by air to Porto - all transport, plus the services of a cruise manager throughout included.
