As part of Cox & Kings’ expanding European programme, six new train journeys launching this year, have been added to the company's Website.

The Golden Eagle, owned by GW Travel, was launched in 2007 to operate the Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian routes and from April it will begin travelling between Moscow and St Petersburg and through the Baltic States.

As an example of prices, a nine-day Opera and Ballet Theatre departure - from Moscow to St Petersburg, which includes tickets to ballet or opera performances in the Bolshoi in Moscow, Mariinsky in St Petersburg and the National Theatre in Kiev, costs from £3,395 per person.

Meanwhile, a new seven-day Baltic Adventure, which combines Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Moscow costs from £2,695 per person. All trips include fflights, transfers and full board accommodation.

Also new on the Website, the operator has suggestions for combining Moscow with Volgograd or Kursk, and St Petersburg with Murmansk or Novgorod.
