Diamond Rail Holidays has released its new brochure for 2017 and, in response to the continuing growth in demand for no-fly holidays, has introduced ten new itineraries for next year, all of which include return travel from London by Eurostar and onward connections using Europe’s high-speed rail network.
The new brochure features a number of city break options, as well as a collection of winter itineraries with opportunities to ride some of Europe’s charming little trains.
Tim Fleming, the company's sales and business development manager, said: “More and more people are coming to realise that Europe’s network of high speed trains extends way beyond destinations served by the Eurostar, and that travel by rail offers a fantastic alternative to flying.
"Travelling by rail in Europe is easy and affordable and passengers can quickly find themselves whisked off to the Italian Lakes, the Spanish Coast and beyond. Our ‘little train’ itineraries in the Pyrenees and Rhine Valley have always been incredibly popular, so we are excited that the programme for next year includes more unusual trains in Italy, the Swiss Alps and Germany.”
As an example of itineraries, a six-day Delightful Dordogne follows the Dordogne, where old-world towns, green meadows, chestnut forests and rolling vineyards are bound together. After visiting the pilgrim village of Rocamadour and the Caves of Padirac, guests take a cruise along the river, visit a local brandy distillery and ride the Truffle Train for an eight-mile round trip. Prices start from £759 per person based on two sharing on a mixed-board basis and include Eurostar travel from London, transfers, accommodation, many excursions and the services of a tour manager.
