Contiki Holidays has introduced two new itineraries to its Latin America programme; one to The Galapagos & Andes, taking young travellers to the most bio diverse regions on earth, and another, the epic Latin Quest, combining the ancient Inca cultures of Peru, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil.


The operator's 26-day Galapagos & Andes itinerary offers culture, heritage, water and wildlife and combines Ecuador, the Galapagos and Peru, rolled into one trip. Highlights include a locally guided tour of Quito, salsa dancing lesson in Baños, a trip to see the Galapagos giant tortoises, the lava tunnels on Santa Cruz island, a Panga boat ride to spot the famous Galapagos wildlife, snorkelling and the Charles Darwin Research station on Santa Cruz.  

Optional experiences include rafting through the jungle, a biking adventure on San Cristobal, horse riding through the Sacred Valley, plus free time to explore. 

A 37-day  Latin Quest sees young travellers visit four countries; Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and Brazil. Highlights include a local tango lesson in Buenos Aires, a boat cruise on San Cristobal, snorkelling in the Galapagos, a city tour of Arequipa, a hot spring swim in Chivay, entry to the Temple of Wiracocha, an island boat trip on Lake Titicaca, a walking tour of Cusco, an Inca trail trek to Machu Picchu, a guided Favela tour, a boat cruise and city tour in Rio, a visit to Christ the Redeemer statue and a visit to the Iguassu Falls.

Prices for the Galapagos & Andes tour start from £4,725 including flights; 38 meals; a tour manager; local guides; transport in an air-conditioned coach, mini-coach or van; and accommodation including special stays at Colca Canyon rustic lodge and an Amazon Jungle Lodge in Puerto Maldonado, Peru.
