Following an investment of US$860,000, Wilderness Safaris' Mombo Camp in Botswana has switched from diesel-powered generators to renewable solar energy.
The reduction in expected carbon emissions for the camp this year is 97%, with the property estimating that it expects to emit 6.5 tonnes of CO2 equivalents over the course of 2012 compared to 215 tonnes during 2011.
