Lowcostbeds has announced that it is to create a ‘dedicated’ long-haul unit, within its business and has recently appointed Leigh Harrington as senior long-haul product manager.

The company's long-haul portfolio has been strengthened in recent weeks, with new hotels added in Florida, Dubai, Mauritius, Dom Rep and Mexico, and the opeartor reports that the total number of direct long-haul contracts has increased by more than 100% since new additional buyers were recruited.

The company recently announced expansion into a large number of long-haul destinations, with particular focus on the Caribbean, Far East and Australia, as well as increased capacity in the US and Middle East.

New destinations include Kenya, Gambia, Maldives, Mauritius and South America, with many of the new hotels sourced from international chains such as Centara, Hilton and Barceló group.
