Love is in the air with Maritim

According to the Beatles, ‘All You Need is Love’ and for those struck by Cupid’s arrow, international hotel chain Maritim is offering a range of romantic properties in Germany.

Located on the banks of the Rhine near Cologne Cathedral in the historic Old Town, the Maritim Hotel Cologne provides 454 elegantly furnished rooms and suites, while the hotel’s large glazed dome in the foyer features five cafes and restaurants, offering a wide range of regional and international delicacies.

In between romantic strolls on the Rhine promenade, guests can visit the famed Lindt Chocolate Factory nearby, which includes a giant chocolate fountain. As part of the tour, sweet toothed lovers can enjoy nine exhibition halls dedicated to the culture and history of chocolate, starting at the old American cultures such as the Maya and the Aztecs, through the Baroque age and industrialisation, up to the modern refinement methods used today.

For those as passionate about their food as each other, hotel guests can enjoy Maritim’s signature lavish breakfast at the ‘‘Rôtisserie’’ Restaurant, which includes a wide range of hot and cold seasonal produce, where couples can make their break a truly special occasion by starting the day with sparkling wine and fresh smoked salmon.

The hotel’s Cafe “Heumarkt” Restaurant serves authentic buffet specialities for lunch, while the famed “Bellvue” Restaurant, located on the fifth floor comes complete with panoramic city skyline views and has twice been acclaimed as one of Cologne’s best restaurants.

Additional hotel facilities include a heated swimming pool, exclusive boutiques in the hotel hall, a comprehensive fitness area and massage facilities and dedicated hair dressing salon.
