Leger Holidays has launched its first escorted battlefield tour to Vietnam.

The 13-day tour costs from £1,995 per person and will offer an insight into the history and culture of the country, and the opportunity to experience firsthand some of the key locations from 30 years of conflict.

Fully escorted by a specialist battlefield guide, travellers will visit dozens of the renowned military sites, such as the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ prison where American pilots were kept during the war, the Cu Chi tunnels, where Vietnamese guerrillas built their hideouts, the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail, the symbolic Hien Luong Bridge and Red Beach where the US marines officially landed in 1965.

Cultural highlights include sightseeing in the capital Hanoi, an overnight cruise in a junk around Ha Long Bay, the world heritage site of Hoi An, the royal palaces of Hue and a horse drawn cart ride in the Mekong Delta.
