Deccan Dreams, part of Pyramid Holiday Tours, has launched an Eco-conservation and Nature Tourism programme aimed at preserving local customs and traditions and protecting wildlife sanctuaries.

The tours are featured by Avion Holidays in its Eastern Shores brochure, with a range of tailormade options.

As examples, the State of Karnataka in India is featured, where visitors learn about the tiger conservation project undertaken by the Department of Forest and Environment and other vital work being carried out to protect the wildlife.

A ‘hands on’ learning experience is encouraged, with a choice of conservation activities in Karnataka’s tiger reserves offer programmes to help preserve and protect the species.

Other tours offer visitors the chance to visit elephant sanctuaries, learning about their behaviour, preparing their food and participating in the elephant baths in the river.

A one-day tour costs from £130 per person based on a full-board stay at the Kabini Jungle Lodges near India’s River Kabini and including a safari.
