Jimmy Anderson to take on new sporting challenges with Thomas Cook Sport

Cricket legend James Anderson has been called on by one of the UK’s leading sports travel provider, Thomas Cook Sport, to complete one of the two sporting challenges.

As the brand ambassador for the sports travel provider, the ace cricketer will either head to Sale Sharks to be put through his Rugby Union paces or have his footballing prowess put to the test at Premier League newcomers Wolves in the latest #JIMMYDOES challenge.

The decision on which sporting test Jimmy should undertake is over to fans on social media. They should use the hashtag, #JIMMYDOES followed by the sport they think Jimmy should tackle – either #JIMMYDOESSALESHARKS or #JIMMYDOESWOLVES. Taking place week commencing December 10, whatever the public decide, one lucky supporter who voted will be picked out at random to take on Jimmy in the winning sporting challenge, whether it’s the Rugby Union ‘conversion’ challenge or a penalty shootout against Premier League opposition.

Jimmy’s first challenge earlier this year saw the cricket legend mentored by PDC professional Stephen Bunting before been pitted against competition winner, Chris Ford, in a nail biting nine-dart challenge.

Anderson said: “I’m a very competitive person and I’m already looking forward to my second #JIMMYDOES challenge. I like to think I’ve got some skills to show on both the rugby and football pitch, so I’m looking forward to getting some professional coaching and showing what I can do against the fan challenger.”

Rob Slawson, head of Thomas Cook Sport, added: “We have great relationship with Jimmy and our two partner clubs here at Thomas Cook Sport. What better way for us to show off the great array of sporting experiences we offer than sending our brand ambassador to go have a go himself?”
