and Jet2holidays have launched their biggest flights and holidays programme for summer 2016, which features 209 routes to 51 destinations across the Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, Canary Islands plus top European cities.

A total of 5.9 million seats will be available next year across seven UK bases, three million of which are to top Spanish destinations.

Key developments include the leisure operator’s biggest growth at Edinburgh Airport with 12 new destinations including Antalya, Crete, Dalaman, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Paphos, Rhodes and Tenerife, plus exclusive routes to Kefalonia, Larnaca, Vienna and Zante; significant growth at Newcastle International Airport with a seventh aircraft and more than 750,000 seats to 29 destinations; an exclusive destination for Northern Ireland, Fuerteventura plus two new routes for East Midlands Airport - the Greek island of Kefalonia and Italian city, Verona; and further growth at Glasgow Airport with 50,000 more seats.

Steve Heapy, CEO of and Jet2holidays, said: “This is going to be our biggest season ever. We know travel agents want to give their customers even more opportunities to go on holiday to their favourite destinations. This is why we are adding more new and exciting places for people to visit plus increasing capacity and adding earlier flights to our most popular leisure routes.

"We are a fast growing business and Edinburgh is an important base for us. We want to give our loyal local customers even more choice and flexibility when it comes to their holiday planning for next year. The 12 new routes are what local people have been asking for and with the four exclusive routes – Kefalonia, Larnaca, Vienna and Zante – we are giving people new and exciting places to visit. Agents can certainly capitalise on the exclusive new routes as they are fantastic, brand new places for people to visit. It’s also the first time they can sell our great value package holidays to the Canary Islands, Greek Islands and Eastern Mediterranean."
