Low fare airline announces extended flight schedule to New York City

Thanks to high passenger numbers, Iceland Express is extending its service to New York by an extra four weeks.


The service, which flies from  Gatwick to  Newark International Airport via Reykjavik, launched on June 1 and was originally going to run for 13 weeks, ending August 31.

It will now fly to the Big Apple until September 27.

“Iceland Express has seen excellent bookings for the New York route over the summer period so we are confident about prolonging the season,” says Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO.

“New York is an extremely popular destination so interest in the city and our well priced route will continue, especially as we are able to offer the value for money flights that customers want.”

Iceland Express flies between London Gatwick and Newark International Airport four times a week. Prices start from £267 return, including taxes. The service also allows for passengers to enjoy a stopover in Reykjavik
