Simon Ferguson, managing director UK & Ireland of Travelport, highlighted a number of ways in which attendees at The Travel Network Group’s conference in Bled, Slovenia, could capitalise on new technologies.
He said: "What's really powerful is the experience and knowledge that you have. Data is a very powerful tool for independent businesses to use. The more technology that is being offered to people, the more difficult it becomes to get to the right information. That's arguably where you come in because someone still needs to put all this information together in a meaningful way.
"Don't be scared of change. Agents who start to explore new technologies, even if they start off with one small change, will be better off in the long term."
