Hotelbeds has announced the launch of APItude, a new hotel distribution API (application program interface) designed to make the integration process between systems, websites and applications easier and faster.

 

 

Under the banner of ‘We love simple’, the launch is the result of the bedbanks’s new focus on simplifying the booking cycle across the entire travel value chain. At 50% lighter and 30% faster, the new API supports the development of new travel websites or mobile apps providing instant access to 75,000 hotels.

 

The technology features a wide range of functionalities, such as geo localisation, keywords and advanced filter searches designed to help the customer increase sales of travel products.

 

The system is now live and ready for bookings. When asked on when they will know the new system is a success, Sam Turner, the company's sales director, said: “For the first new customers that start to develop the system, the ‘proof will be in the pudding’ on how long that takes and how the quality of that integration is.

 

"Given the testing that we’ve done, we think that is absolutely achievable within one month or sooner, however we won’t know absolutely until we start developing with customers over the next two to three months.”
