Holiday Extras research: Airport parking prices down by 30%

Holiday Extras, a UK-based airport parking provider, has found that the price to park at the airport has fallen by 30% since last year; from an average of ?8.26 per night around this time in 2019, to ?6.39 this week

However, parking fees are likely to increase as car parks fill in line with the rise in holiday bookings as travel restrictions are lifted.

Seamus McCauley, editor at Holiday Extras, said; ?Most of us are hoping to get away, now that lockdown has eased and holidays are back. As many as 52% of people, who flew last year, tell us they are planning to fly again in 2020, and another 42% say, they plan to fly next year.?

?Precaution against COVID-19 is on everybody?s mind, as things have started to reopen, and driving yourself to the airport is one of the simplest ways to limit your exposure on the way. As the government says, we should avoid public transport, especially in rush hour, if we can,? added Mr McCauley.  ?So we are glad to report that people, who want to park their car at the airport, can do so more at a cheaper rate than ever. At present, prices are down by 30% since last year, so if you have booked a holiday this summer, or even for the next year, we would recommend booking your parking as soon as you can, while prices are still low.?
