Haven’s latest figures show that 79% of holidays last year were for three- or four-night breaks with forward booking figures indicating that this trend is set to continue this year.

These statistics support the recent Mintel report that 60% of holidays taken in the UK were short breaks.
The operator's head of retail sales Allan Lambert said: “The continued growth in the number of short break bookings versus traditional seven-night stays suggests that families are looking to take several shorter holidays across the year rather than investing in just one main break away – a fantastic opportunity for travel agents.”

Other figures released by the company reveal that five out of every ten families booked with the operator because they wanted to holiday by the seaside to give their kids the same traditional holidays they enjoyed as children.

A short break costs from £109 per unit based on a three-night stay in a Superior two-bedroom self-catering caravan that sleeps up to six people at Blue Dolphin holiday park in Yorkshire.
