Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife had its official Grand Opening Party on December 10 bringing the spirit of the 80s to its open-air stage and injecting a dose of glitter, fluorescent colour, and disco classics to Tenerife’s coastline.

A countdown at sunset marked the start of the party as familiar faces from Hard Rock International and Palladium Hotel Group, Hard Rock’s hotel partner in Tenerife, were introduced to the stage for the legendary ‘guitar smash’.

Guests came from all over the island and the world to party at the Canary Islands’ newest entertainment venue.

‘Children of the ‘80s’ DJ trio Dream Team Reload got the musical proceedings underway, warming up the crowd with dance-floor fillers and sing-a-long classics. African artist Rozalla was the first artist to play on stage, followed by Freedom Williams from American dance-pop and hip-hop group C+C Music Factory and Italian trio Blackbox.

The kings of disco, Village People, completed the 80s style extravaganza dressed in their distinctive costumes with popular tracks ‘Macho Man’, ‘In The Navy’ and ‘Y.M.C.A’ all featuring within their set.

The property comprises 624 rooms, including 260 suites, split across two towers – Oasis and Nirvana. To complement the music offering and live concerts, guests can also enjoy three pools, access to the lagoon and a beach club complete with Balinese beds. Room rates start from 250 Euros based on two people sharing with breakfast.
